A sensory map of the gastrointestinal tract

This study, in collaboration with Luis Saraiva at Sidra Medicine, employed spatial transcriptomics to map the molecular characteristics of gut sensory cells along the gastrointestinal tract. This intestinal homunculus underscores the gut's capacity to differentially encode and transmit information to the brain, influencing various aspects of physiology and behavior.
